Kai Sotto, the Filipino basketball star, has been selected to join the Orlando Magic team for the NBA 2K24 Summer League. The Magic recently announced their initial roster of 22 players for the upcoming tournament in Las Vegas, and Sotto, who stands at an impressive 7 feet 3 inches, is among them. Leading the team are Anthony Blake and Jett Howard, who were drafted as the 6th and 11th picks respectively in the 2023 NBA Draft. Also expected to participate are Caleb Houstan and Kevon Harris, both of whom were part of the Orlando team last season. The team will be coached by Dylan Murphy, the newly appointed head coach of the Orlando Magic's affiliate team, the Osceola Magic.

The NBA 2K24 Summer League will take place from July 7th to 17th, with the Magic playing their first game against the Detroit Pistons on Sunday, Manila time. All 30 NBA teams will participate in at least five games each, with the top four teams advancing to the playoffs. Sotto received an invitation to join the Magic after the NBA Draft and reportedly had interest from three or four other teams as well.

Before joining the Magic, Sotto played for the Hiroshima Dragonflies in Japan's B League, where he averaged 9.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.4 blocks, and 1.4 assists per game.
